5 Ways to Spring Clean Your Life

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”
― Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina

SpringCleanYourLifeSpring is here! It’s the time of rebirth, the time of creation, and a time when people take time out of their lives to clean their homes. Many people will tell you that spring cleaning is a vital way to refresh your life, and it’s quite possible that you already have a spring cleaning to-do list. Believe it or not, there may be other issues that need cleaning that you may not have included on your spring cleaning list that you definitely should. Check out these five ways to spring clean your life for starters!

  1. Clean up your circle of friends.  Everyone knows that one friend who may not be a good influence on their life, or that happens to be a Debbie Downer all the time. What do you get out of having a friend that only drags you down? If you notice your circle of friends has a person who really doesn’t benefit you at all, it may be time to drop that individual from your group.
  2. Clean up your schedule. Did you ever notice how much time is wasted on silly tasks that are easy to accomplish but take a long time to do? If you have been losing a lot of quality time with friends and family, or if it has been eating into your work schedule, hiring someone to take care of those tasks might be a good way to clean up your schedule.
  3. Clear your mind. Spring can also be a very stressful time for those of us who are getting new jobs, or just dealing with a lot on their plates. In times like this, you need to clear your mind. Meditate. Practice yoga. Run a hot bath with bubbles, if you need to. But just do what you need to do in order to get your mind clear, calm, and controlled. If you do, you’ll find that day to day life will be a lot easier.
  4. Clear up your conscience. Everyone feels guilty about certain things – it’s part of the human condition. In some major cases, it can be enough to weigh you down. Sometimes the best way to clear your conscience is to do something beneficial for other people, such as volunteering at a hospital or delivering flowers to an elderly person.
  5. Clean up your goals. Having goals is a great thing. However, working towards your goals can be very difficult if you don’t know exactly what you are working for. Make a very direct, specific list of goals that you want to achieve, complete with the time that you want each goal accomplished by. You’ll be surprised at how motivated you’ll be to make it happen!

Take your time and make an effort when it comes to cleaning your life up. If you don’t make an effort to clean up your life, your mind, and your spirit once in a while you will end up finding yourself distracted by the little things in life, unable to move forward, and also stressed out beyond belief. Once you’ve cleaned up your life this spring, you’ll be able to enjoy all of summer, and overcome all the challenges that life throws your way.
